My Background
My name is Hamid Ullah. I grew up in Portugal and now live in the UK, and I'm proud of the multicultural upbringing that has shaped who I am today.
Having roots connected to Portugal, Bangladesh, and Britain, a heritage that includes holding three passports, has given me a broad perspective on people, culture, and communication. Moving between different environments from an early age taught me adaptability, curiosity, and the value of understanding different points of view.
Professional Focus
Professionally, I'm drawn to problem-solving, analysis, and making sense of complex information. I enjoy working with data not just as numbers, but as stories that can guide better decisions and real-world impact.
Beyond Work
Outside of academics and professional interests, I've always valued teamwork, community, and personal growth.
CS:GO and Esports Varsity Captain
Captained the university's competitive CS:GO team, leading strategic planning and fostering team communication that resulted in the team being ranked 10th nationally by the National Student Esports (NSE).
View NSE RankingAcademic & University Insight Mentor
Served at my previous school, Barnhill Community High School, providing academic feedback and strategic guidance to support students from underprivileged backgrounds. Specifically, I helped them gain insight into the university application process to secure placements at leading universities.
Sports & Competition
I enjoy sports like football and padel for the teamwork, communication, and competitive environment they provide, balancing individual skill with collective effort.
Community Fundraising
Volunteer with Watford Food Bank, organizing community outreach events focused on raising awareness, coordinating efforts to distribute essential supplies, and securing necessary funds to support those in need.
All of these experiences have shaped how I work with others — with patience, openness, and a strong sense of responsibility.
Looking Ahead
I'm motivated by continuous improvement, whether that's developing technical skills, learning from different cultures, or contributing meaningfully to the teams and communities I'm part of.
